Lara works as an associate at NovioTax, specializing in the field of CFC legislation and is involved in the implementation of the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Prevention) Act (Wwft). The Act contains provisions regarding customer screening, identification and verification of customers, as well as the reporting of unusual transactions. Her interests also lie in the field of the transparency issues and fairness in taxation related to the EU Council Directive 2011/16 regarding cross-border tax arrangements, known as DAC6.
Lara joined NovioTax in September 2019 as a Bachelor student writing her thesis and working partly for our firm. She completed her bachelor’s degree on Tax & Economics at HAN University of Applied Sciences in 2020. Afterward, she pursued her educational career at Tilburg University studying for a Master’s degree in Tax law, which she graduated from in March 2023. She also did volunteer work during her studies for a foundation that is dedicated to building a fair coffee sector in Cameroon together with local farmers, as well as developing water supplies for various communities in Cameroon.
