Tax lawyer

Gert-Jan works as a tax lawyer at NovioTax. He specializes in transfer pricing matters, international tax structuring, and cross-border investments and business activities between Germany and the Netherlands. He frequently participates in drafting and assessing transfer pricing documentation. Furthermore, Gert-Jan possesses in-depth knowledge of the various tax aspects involved in the application of the Netherlands’ preferential IP regime. He serves many mid-sized and large multinational enterprise (MNE) clients and is actively involved in Mutual Agreement Procedure (MAP) proceedings and Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs).

 

In 2016, Gert-Jan, along with his colleague Patrick Schrievers, founded NovioTax. Gert-Jan holds a degree in Tax Law from Groningen University and is a member of the Netherlands Association of Tax Advisers (NOB) and the International Fiscal Association (IFA). He frequently lectures and has published various papers, including in the German tax journal “Internationales Steuerrecht.” Prior to joining NovioTax, he worked as a (senior) associate at Loyens & Loeff and KPMG Meijburg & Co. During this period, he was seconded to the Loyens & Loeff Frankfurt office.

 

Currently, Gert-Jan resides in Arnhem with his partner and two children. In his leisure time, he enjoys running, cycling, catching up with friends, and traveling.
